  • Who we are

We are people like you, who have a sense of gratitude for being able to live in such a wonderful community, where recreation and wellbeing are valued and practiced.

  • History

After several years without a triathlon in Lander, the Evangelical Free Church, through the Connections Committee, revived the event in 2021. However, the initial leadership moved away from the area in late June of that year.

In the fall of 2022, Scott Groenke, an avid triathlete, was approached by a few community members about continuing the triathlon. Joel Harms, a fellow triathlon and swimming athlete with swim club experience, recognized the importance of maintaining this event for the community. Together, Scott and Joel began the process of reorganizing and implementing what would soon be renamed as the Lander Reverse Triathlon for 2022.

Barbara McMahill, Chad Fallin, David Kauffman, and Casey Adams, along with community members and triathlon enthusiasts, share this vision and have joined the team with their incredible talents. With community support and participation, we aim to bring people together and inspire a healthy lifestyle.

  • Where are we going

Through a generous grant, the LOR Foundation has given the Lander Triathlon the resources that are needed to make this a sustainable event that will serve the community for years to come. It is hoped that the Lander Triathlon will become an annual local event that individuals, families, and friends will look forward to each year.
